Wedding Photographer Paul Cincotta Wins Prestigious WPPI Grand Award

Paul Cincotta, a talented local photographer specialising in wedding and portrait photography, has received the esteemed Grand Award at the 2015 Wedding & Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) Awards of Excellence competition.

Held annually in Las Vegas, the WPPI Awards are the largest and most prestigious wedding photography competition in the world.

Representing imagism Photography, Paul’s entries in the Wedding and Group Portrait divisions received Gold Distinctions and first place in their categories.

His stunning wedding day image, ‘The Latent Bride’, which captures a ghostly image of the reflection of a bride, was recognised as the 2015 WPPI Wedding Grand Award Winner – the highest competition accolade presented at the event.

“The WPPI event is the most respected wedding photography competition in the world. To be judged against more than 3,000 submissions from leading photographers internationally and be awarded so highly is an absolute honour,” says Paul.

“I’m passionate about capturing moments in an imaginative way and ‘The Latent Bride’ is certainly not a traditional wedding photograph. The bride was getting ready in another room and I saw an opportunity to create an image that was unique and unexpected – at first glance, you may not even notice her reflection.”

Closer to home, Paul was recently awarded 3 Silvers and a Silver Distinction at the 2015 Epson Queensland Professional Photography Awards, held by the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP).
